This page explains how to delete your Fishers of Men account and what happens to your data. It applies to the Fishers of Men app (com.harco.fishersofmen).
If you have been signed in for a long time, you may be asked to sign in again first. This is a security check — sign in again and repeat the steps.
Deleting your account cannot be undone. You will lose access to the fellowship immediately, and regaining access requires a new sign-up and a new approval by the fellowship's leadership.
Email admin@catholicfishersofmen.org from the email address associated with your account and ask for your account to be deleted. We will confirm your identity, delete the account, and reply to confirm. Requests are normally handled within 30 days.
Deleting your account removes you, your personal details, and everything you posted. Nothing you wrote is kept.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your account and sign-in credentials | Deleted. Your authentication record is removed, so the account can no longer be signed in to. |
| Your profile (name, photo, membership status) | Deleted. |
| Your email address, phone number, and notification tokens | Deleted. |
| Your chat messages and thread replies | Deleted. Your messages and replies are removed, along with any photos attached to them. Because a reply cannot outlive the message it answers, replies other members left on your messages are removed with them. |
| Your prayer requests | Made anonymous. Your name and the link to your account are removed. Prayer requests are in any case automatically deleted 30 days after they are posted, unless resolved or pinned — and anonymous prayers never carried your name to begin with. |
| Your event RSVPs | Deleted. |
| Your volunteer slot sign-ups and food sign-ups | Released. Your claim is removed and the slot becomes available to other members again. |
| Photos you uploaded to chat, and your profile photo | Kept. Uploaded image files are retained in storage and are not automatically removed. They are no longer attributed to you once your profile is deleted. If you want specific photos removed, say so in your deletion request and we will remove them. |
| Records of administrative actions | Kept. If the fellowship's leadership approved, changed the role of, or removed your account, that action stays in an internal audit log for accountability. It is visible only to leadership. |
Deletion from inside the app takes effect immediately. Emailed requests are normally completed within 30 days. Routine infrastructure backups held by our hosting provider may retain copies for a short period after deletion before they expire.
